In the Gospel of Luke, Chapter 2, verses 10 through 14, the story of the birth of Jesus is told. According to the story, an angel appeared to shepherds who were watching their flocks in the fields outside of Bethlehem, announcing the birth of Jesus and saying that he would be a savior for all people. The angel told the shepherds to go to Bethlehem and see the baby for themselves. When the shepherds arrived, they found Mary, Joseph, and the baby Jesus, lying in a manger. The shepherds were filled with joy and told everyone they met about the amazing things that had happened to them. These verses are often read during Christmas celebrations as a reminder of the birth of Jesus and the hope and salvation that he brings to the world.
