Al eyes will be on King Charles III on Christmas Day, as the country's new monarch addresses the nation for the first time in a festive speech.
More than three months have now passed since the death of Charles' beloved mother, the late and great Queen Elizabeth II. The 96-year-old passed away peacefully at Balmoral in early September, with family, including the now King Charles, around her. Charles was officially proclaimed as King, just days after her death, before then embarking on a string of state visits to Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland before her funeral.
The Queen's Christmas messages were often the most watched broadcast on TV on Christmas Day and bookies are tipping King Charles to follow in his mother's footsteps and top the ratings for Sunday. Before his speech is watched by millions across the country, the King will appear on ITV in Together at Christmas, the pre-recorded Royal carol concert, hosted by William and Kate, the new Prince and Princess of Wales.
There have been no indications as yet, as to what Charles will feature in his address, although it is very likely to include a tribute to The Queen.
What time is King Charles Speech on Christmas Day?
will be shown on BBC One, BBC Two ITV and Sky News at 3pm on Sunday, December 25, with 10 minutes set aside in the schedules for his message.
