The capture of Izmail was of great importance for the further course of the war, which ended in 1792 with the Treaty of Jassy, which secured the Crimea and the northern Black Sea region from the Kuban to the Dniester for Russia.

Few people today know the details of this undeservedly forgotten victory of the Russian army under the leadership of Alexander Suvorov. About 70 thousand people from both sides took part in the grand battle. Suvorov's army had fewer soldiers than the enemy garrison. Whereas according to the laws of military science, the troops attacking the fortress should be at least three times the number of defenders. Suvorov did not have this advantage, moreover - he got a tired, hungry, freezing army. And despite this, he decides to take the assault. Moreover, according to the idea of the film's author Aleksey Egorov, the reconstruction will involve not professional actors, but the most ordinary soldiers of the Russian Army. Dressed in the uniform of Russian soldiers and officers of the Catherine era, with weapons of the time, they will test on themselves all the techniques of Suvorov, and take by storm the fortress of the 18th century, as similar to Ishmael as possible.
