On our trip Westward, we finally hit the Arkansas Ozarks . . . We were NOT disappointed!

We decided to take our 99 Jeep Cherokee XJ for a Cross Country Overland Adventure. We loaded our Cherokee XJ with tent, folding camping cots, grill, blankets, sleeping bags, and extra gasoline! At a truck stop after filling up with gas, we drove on the scales to see how much we weighed; the ticket revealed we were at 5200 pounds; we were ready for anything!

We spent 31 days driving in 18 states, and put on over 8500 miles! Come along for the ride; we think you will enjoy it!

Today’s Adventure takes us into the great state of Arkansas. We saw first hand the wonderful beauty of this state, as we saw the St Francis National Forest from a scenic overlook.

We began searching for some back country, offroad trails with river crossings, and mud puddles; it did not take long before we found them. Our overlanding expedition was beginning to take on new and special significance in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas.
