The Cat Town Story is an Award-winning documentary about an Oakland cat rescue nonprofit organization that has the distinction of being the first cat cafe in the nation.

Northern California filmmakers Tremain Hayhoe and Mario Glaviano team up to bring their 60 minute documentary to cat loving audiences everywhere.

The Cat Town Story won Best Picture at the All-In Global Network Film Festival 2022 located inside the world-famous Pinewood Studios in London, England. This studio is where Harry Potter, James Bond, Star Wars, and many more movies have been filmed. It was an honor!

Highlighting a moment in time for Cat Town during the global pandemic, this documentary explores how a small group of compassionate people took a wild idea of transforming traditional methods of cat rescue and turned it into a reality.

In addition to a behind the scenes look at the inner workings of Cat Town, the film tells the stories of the second lives of several cats that would have been euthanized had Cat Town’s employees and volunteers not intervened.

The Cat Town Story is a film about second chances and a testament to the healing that is possible when we move beyond cages and create an environment where cats can show their true selves.
