The Hong Kong-based non-profit Sai Kung Stray Friends has been struggling to continue its work rescuing abandoned, sick, injured and stray dogs during the Covid-19 pandemic. It is also suffering from a loss of donors and volunteers who have also been leaving the city, putting added pressure on already stretched manpower and the high cost of operating the shelter.
