Phantasy Star: It Still Shines (When You Blow Off the Dust)

Phantasy Star surprised me with its fun mechanics, solid characters, and sci-fi proclivities.

Developed by Sega, Phantasy Star was released in 1987, just two days after the first Final Fantasy, for the Master System. It has seen numerous re-releases over the years, including the Sega Ages version for Nintendo Switch, which I cover here.
