Illinois, A State Hellbent on Disarming Its Citizens

Washington Gun Law President, William Kirk, discusses the ongoing game of "oneupsmanship" occurring between several very blue states who are feverishly competing with each other to see which one can eviscerate their citizens' Second Amendment Rights the quickest. New York was the first to react with sour grapes following the holdings of New York Pistol & Rifle Assoc. v. Bruen, but New Jersey was quick to follow. Not to be outdone, along came Oregon's Ballot Measure 114, which right now holds the title to the worst piece of gun legislation in America. But in a "hold my beer moment" along comes Illinois, with their new proposed "assault weapons" ban. This bill, if enacted into law, would mimic HR 1808 on the Federal level, but unlike HR 1808, which has really no chance of becoming law, the votes are already there in Illinois for this to become a reality.
