Hidden Graveyard behind Old House

Holtzworth Cemetery is located on the side of a road in Merrillville Indiana
It is on a small knoll, just beyond a ditch, where four trees and a dense growth of grass conceals the stones from view from the road
According to previous records, the land had been a grant by President Polk to Mathias Holtzworth in 1846
There may be as many as 9 individuals buried here.
In July 1992, only 2 stones were remaining.
Holtzworth (or Holtzworth), Catharine - d. 2-5-1847, aged 17(or 12?)y, 11m , 12d
Holtzworth (or Holtzworth), Rosina - d. 10-6-1856, aged 54y, 7m, 4d
4 small stones with the following initials:
H.H.
M.H.
C.H.
R.H.
From previous records, the following are buried, but no stones were found:
Holtzworth, Magdalena - dau of M. & R.; d. 2-15-1847; aged 6y, 1m, 13d
