Church Successionism Refuted & Perpetuity of the Church Defended (The Heresy of Landmarkism)

This message refutes the teaching of successionism which states that a church is not a true church unless it can be traced back to another true church with proper authority and that authority is passed down from the apostles. Successionists also state that a baptism is only valid if done by a pastor with proper authority which he obtained by having hands laid on him from another pastor who had hands laid on him and this is claimed to be the process by which authority has been passed down from the apostles. Baptists who teach this are called Landmarkers. Landmarkism is known to be tied to Baptist Briders who state that only Baptist churches with proper authority will be apart of the bride of Christ.
We go over some key scriptures and then we read from the books of two very well respected Baptist historians who specifically spoke against Baptist successionism (Landmarkism): J.T. Christian and Thomas Armitage.
