Winter Storm Warning continues for SE Wisconsin until Saturday morning

Temperatures plummeted this afternoon, causing any wet roads to quickly freeze up. Salt will not work well tonight as temperatures dip to around zero or below. Steady moderate snow ends this evening, but scattered snow showers will remain possible through the night and into tomorrow. The bigger issue will be winds gusting over 50 mph, creating near-whiteout conditions in the countryside, along with wind chill -20 to -30. We do not advise long-distance travel tonight through tomorrow. The strongest winds likely occur Friday morning into early Friday afternoon. The wind dies down a little into the Christmas Holiday Weekend, but it will remain windy and very cold.
