'We'd love to have Messi back at Barcelona!' | Joan Laporta admits he wants Messi to return 🐐🔙

Barcelona president Joan Laporta said on Thursday (22nd December) that he does not rule out that Lionel Messi might join the Catalan club once again before finishing his career.

"He will always be tied with Barcelona", Laporta said. "Will he come back as a player? Right now he is a Paris Saint-Germain player, we would love to have him back at Barcelona one day, we will see."

Messi signed a two-year deal with Paris Saint-Germain in 2021, leaving the club he joined as a 13-year-old.

The Argentine star's contract with Barcelona expired in the summer of 2021 and Barcelona,then burdened by debts of more than 1.2 billion euros ($1.4 billion), was unable to afford to keep him.

Messi led Argentina to World Cup glory in Qatar, beating France in the final last Sunday.
