Combat ships of Pacific Fleet and Chinese naval forces begin practising tasks of Sea Cooperation 2022 joint Russian-Chinese exercise

On the previous day, detachments of warships of the Pacific Fleet and PLA naval forces met in the waters of the East China Sea south of Chuzhudo Island. Rear Admiral Valery Kazakov, commander of the Russian exercise, and Rear Admiral Wang Yu, deputy commander of the PLA East Joint Naval Command, greeted each other by radio and agreed on joint work plans. The ships of the two countries then set course for the exercise area. The Russian ships were led by the flagship of the Nakhimov Order of the Pacific Fleet, the guards missile cruiser Varyag, and the destroyer Jinan, the Chinese destroyer.

⚓️ The Russian and Chinese navies practised joint tactical manoeuvring and communication training during the sea crossing. Russian Ka-27 deck helicopters of the anti-submarine variant also flew over the East China Sea.
