Rigging on a dead black oak limb

Getting this limb down was tricky, needed it to not take out the fence and not damage the cherry tree that it was literally resting on.

Used a butt-tie and a nose-tie to pendulum the nose down just outside the fence with the butt high, then chunked it up from the grown and lowered the butt as I did.

Worked great. The nose-tie kept it from slamming back into the fence and using the cherry tree as a redirect allowed it to stay outside the fence without resting on the cherry tree.

Had I held it firm for a horizontal lower, it would have broken the cherry tree.
