The France national football team received a warm welcome return home from the Parisian public on Monday - a day after they suffered an agonising penalty shoot-out defeat to Lionel Messi's Argentina in an enthralling 2022 FIFA World Cup final at the Lusail Iconic Stadium in Qatar.

The South American side defeated previous holders France 4-2 in the shoot-out, after the two teams had played out an enthralling 3-3 draw over 120 minutes.
