Skippers Canyon Road is a winding, narrow road in the South Island of New Zealand, located in the Otago region. It was constructed in the early 1880s to provide access to the gold mining area in Skippers Canyon.
The road was built by hand, carved into the sides of a steep canyon with many hairpin turns, narrow bridges, and sheer drops. It is one of the most dangerous roads in New Zealand, and is not suitable for inexperienced drivers.
