Sam Harris - Highest Value

Recently Sam Harris was on Triggernometry and said a number of interesting things. Here I'd like to focus on the topic I posted a video on a week ago or so - frames and perspective, because both Sam and Konstantin demonstrate exactly what I was talking about in that video.
Clearly, Sam Harris has a highest value of knowledge. Konstantin has a highest value of politics. These are more important to them than dead children, or the truth, or relevant facts. This is all quite clear and I'll show you how this plays out.
We worship our highest value, those institutions which protect it are our churches. This is part of the pattern of religion (another topic I covered in a video) that plays out often without our acknowledgement. The framing of our highest value could be post modern, rather than that of a well formed (over time, through distributed cognition) religious practice. That is, power from above based on a highest value, politics, knowledge, economics, etc.
The highest value determines your ethic and shapes the actions you take in the world (morals) as an agent with free will. It determines what is most holy to you. What is your highest value? Do you know? Does your conception match how you act in the world?
