The Brothers Yeo react to Chainsaw Man episode 11, "Mission Start." A fantastic episode. Revelation approaches from the 8th floor, again? If you enjoyed don't forget to like and subscribe!

Usually we'll put thoughts here, but just watch the discussion segment. πŸ˜Šβ€Š

Some clarification and extra thoughts I've had since editing the video:

I wondered if the language I used for my thoughts on Makima were too strong. But after more thought, it seems entirely appropriate. The idea that Makima as a "whore" for power, stems from the possibility that she might have NO end goal. I wasn't able to state that clearly in the recording. She may be in it purely for the sadistic pleasure she derives from exercising power (see episode 9). She's a blackhole. She cannot be satiated.

Also, there's been a recurring "eye" motif since the beginning of this anime. It's becoming increasingly intense. The Future Devil's eyes are the most similar we've seen to Power and Makima's (red in gold). We still haven't seen those eyes come up other than in the Fox Devil. I think that those three characters are more interwoven than what's been shown, and that they are connected to the Future Devil.

This next point connects to a later point: the visual motif of eyes stacked on top of one another, as seen with the Future Devil's eyes. This also echoes the shape of the number "8." It reinforces the importance of the number eight in this show, and injects it with extra meaning. There is a relationship between the number eight, time, and vision, that the show is attempting to bring to our attention. For what purpose? πŸ€·β€β™‚β€Š Hold onto this thought.

My first impression of Power back in episode 2 was, "She looks just like Makima, how unoriginal." And after seeing Makima give people nosebleeds this episode (as she doesβ€Š), there's mounting evidence that Power and Makima may be of the same cloth, as Power is the Blood Fiend. Perhaps they are two pieces of a larger entity, or Power is a doppelganger of Makima, etc. Something along those lines. This would explain their similar eyes. This also connects to my thoughts on Makima lusting after power.

Also, the "8" motif shows up again in the elevator scene with Aki. The 8th floor is the highest floor of the building. You can see this as he steps out of the elevator. Whatever is at the top is BIG.
The Eternity Devil was on the 8th floor of the hotel.
The Future Devil was in the 108th cell.
What is on the 8th floor of this building?
Another time-related devil perhaps? The Past-Devil? The Present-Devil? The Time-Devil proper? It's worth looking into external interpretations of "8," at this point.

Also, there were two shots that emphasized Aki's blade this episode. The first is right after he kills a zombie and speaks to the Angel Devil. The other shot is when he's steps over the threshold of the elevator and enters the 4th floor hallway. The blade is bloodied in both shots. Then, the blade is CLEAN next we see it: he's standing off against the goons on the 4th floor. So I'm thinking that this building, as has happened in past episodes, is the "zone" of the Past-Devil. His blade is dirty again after he steps into the hallway to fight Sawatari, which implies that the hallway is NOT in the building; it doesn't count as "in the zone." I don't think this was an accident by the artists.

DISCUSS.
