Forsand, Norway (near Preikestolen [Pulpit Rock] and east of Stavanger)

The opening of the video shows the absolutely stunning Latefossen, a double waterfall at the southern end of the scenic Hardanger National Road. After hiking to Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) the previous day, we wanted to see what the perched rock looked like from across the Lysefjord. Got some pretty good footage (including some drone), but some of the closeups are shaky because of the high magnification (~2 miles to the ESE near a Google Earth tag marked "Fossmark") and the lack of a good tripod. Beautiful mountains and fjord. Magnificant place. Some footage of the apartment in the tiny Forsand, which is near the entrance to Lysefjord. Most images and video were taken with a Nikon A900 Coolpix (which has a 35x zoom), with contributions from an iphone and a Mavic Mini 2 drone. Some of the early shots showed Pulpit Rock with only a few people and campers, but you can count on encountering large numbers of fellow hikers any time of year. But, this is a bucket list hike and if you can score a parking spot in the lot, go for it. No parking is allowed along the entry road. If you're just looking for outstanding scenic drives in the southern fjord region of western Norway, you could do a lot worse than just taking a few days to drive the Hardanger and Ryfylke National Roads. https://www.nasjonaleturistveger.no/en/routes/
