Elon Musk, the owner and CEO of Twitter, made the announcement on December 20, 2022, saying that he would resign as CEO once he found someone "foolish enough to take the job." After tweeting a poll on December 18 in which he asked Twitter users if they wanted him to step down, he made this announcement, saying that he would "abide by the results of this poll." Some 57.5% of individuals who casted a ballot mentioned he step down.
