While searching for versions of the 'Eugowra Hold-Up', I realized that A.L.Lloyd had used the melody for this song to set the existing lyrics (with a chorus lifted from a different bush ranger ballad).

The origins of this song are hazy, it appears in John Meredith's 'Folk Songs of Australia' from 1968:

Meredith says that Duke Tritton learned it while busking in Sydney. This is repeated here:
