They were the first of kind lions from South Africa who controlled the Sabi Sand region in Kruger National Park. They killed over 100 lions and cubs in a year.

The Coalition of Six males is named Makhulu, the leader, Rasta, Scar, Pretty Boy, Kinky Tail, and MR. T.

The coalition originated as five related brothers were outcasts from the mega pride lion coalition of Sabi Sand Reserve. The five related brothers met five similar mega pride coalitions of five male lion coalitions. Six killed about 40 other lions, including males, females, and cubs. It is believed that the Makulu is unrelated to the other five because he looks different from the other five as he has bigger stature than the rest. He was saved from the attack of other lions because the females did not readily accept him. The five brothers accepted him because he may have been the offspring of the West Street males and a lioness from the pride, which makes him their half-brother.

The five brothers and Makulu left their pride in 2006 to find a new home for themselves. Unfortunately, they did not only find a place for themselves but dominated wherever they went. They learned to be successful hunters and were able to take down large animals like hippos, young rhinos, and giraffes. Kinky Tail and Mr. T were the aggressive ones out of the six. But both of them are dead now.
