Pure in Heart - Ravi Chandran

We continue on the theme of the Sermon of the Mount by looking at Matthew 5:8, "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.."

Is it possible for sinners, whose hearts are wicked by default, to have a pure heart, let alone see God? Jesus came into the world for that very purpose: to pay the debt He did not owe and rescue us from the debt we could not pay. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. When one surrenders to the drawing of the Holy Spirit to respond to God’s call to salvation, He saves us, sanctifies us, and purifies us so that we can see God. Jesus made that astounding statement to Philip, “If you see me, you have seen the Father.”

What does it mean to have a pure heart? How is this pure heart formed? How we can see God, who desires to dwell among us? Immanuel, the Son of God, is still inviting us today.
