Stepping Out Of the Garden #2: A Mother's Day plea for perspective. May 8, 2022.

Out later than hoped, this conscious stream asks all to truly consider what the abandonment of motherhood by our society; and, what we have subsituted it with is actually doing to children: the future of us all.
This Mother's Day feels more like a weary halmark holiday than the celebration of one of, if not the most important role in all of humanity - the makers and shapers of PEOPLE!

* This quote - THE ONE QUOTE I HAVE ALWAYS TAKEN COMPLETELY LITERALLY from the bible - was only meant to be verse 16. Then I read around it and realized just how relevant the context is to our current culture.
Isaiah 49:15-17 (KJV)
15 “Can a woman forget her nursing child,
that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb?
Even these may forget,
yet I will not forget you.
16 Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;
your walls are continually before me.
17 Your builders make haste;
your destroyers and those who laid you waste go out from you.

"Stepping Out Of The Garden" is a series where I am "taking up my cup": walking through the forest of the human condition; identifying many trees; with Jesus as my guide... at least trying.

Examining the greater context through the lens of my experience...
Treading through a minefield... in the name of unconditional love...

My return to the Gospel has been via audiobook: a new, plain, translation of The New Testament published in 2017 by Yale University Press (I would love the same for the Old). I swear, there are times when I almost hear Jesus' eyes roll in his head as His words are spoken. Since I was small, the story of the merchants in the temple has resonated.
