As the forerunner of Christ, John was sent to prepare the hearts of the people to hear the message of salvation that would be brought by the Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ. Contrary to the suggestions of many these days that any discussion of sin be softened or eliminated entirely in the interest of not offending anyone, John the Baptist boldly confronted people with their sin and their need for repentance and salvation. Based upon John's example, Pastor Larry argues that the best way to prepare people to receive the Gospel message of Jesus Christ is to tell them the truth about their sin and their need for the Savior.
