Jazz Jamaican All-Stars - Blue note Vol.1

Founded in 1991 in London. Gary Crosby, bassist and mentor of the band, hand-selected the biggest stars of his field, they are mainly these: Rico Rodriguez, Michael "Bami" Rose and Eddie Thornton forming the brass body; Alan Weekes with the twines; Clinfton Morrison on keys; Kenrick Rowe and Tony Uter running the rhythm section. But, over time, countless other stars joined the collective. All albums have guest appearances. Just like a show, the supernova formed by the merger of these stars is impressive and grandiose.

Jamaican Gary Crosby is the one who holds the reins, from the studio to the stage, he sets the pace. Carrying out a meticulous reinterpretation of jazz classics in a Jamaican guise is the intention of this constellation of musicians. A rich tribute to the fertile legacy left by the jazz movement as a whole. The idea is neither new nor unexpected, but the elegance delegated here is unmatched. With an acidic feeling, they effortlessly stand out when compared to other projects of this kind: Reggae/Ska + Jazz.

Blue note volume 1 was released in 1994.
