The UK is still sleepwalking into a massive food crisis, currently the Average UK Family spends 9% of their salary on food. This is estimated to increase to 12-15% the United Nations however expects that by the end of the year families will be paying 20% for food from their salary

The Trussel Trusts annual Apr 2021 – Apr 2022 has been released which confirms unprecedented demand on a service which in the last 12 months issued over 19,000,000 meals to people. They expect another surge in demand this year.

The Guardian has reported 6,100,000 are skipping meals to ensure that their money stretches for food we have seen reports of this often involve parents skipping a meal to ensure children have 3 meals a day.

The Mirror reports that 2,100,000 cannot afford the costs to eat every day and may be skipping meals or using the method of eating intermittently to extend how long they can eat for.
