After nearly dying twice--once by luck, and once by betrayal--we're off to sort Gallus' journal, which must be translated from the ancient Falmer language. Why was Gallus a thief, and not a linguistic historian: maybe he also wore a hat, and carried a whip. A man definitely without a whip--and apparently the best brain cell Markarth has to offer--Calcelmo, is decades behind a thief, but as luck would have it, has just completed decoding Falmer written language. Now all that's left is to just get ahold of what he knows.
