🍒 Oma's German Cherry Cake! Family favourite recipe! Kirsch streusel-kuchen

Line a 30X45cm (12X18in) pan with parchment paper
Streusel:
100g (7 TBSP) softened butter
100g (½ cup)sugar
125g (1 cup) all purpose flour
Pinch of cinnamon
Small bowl add cubed butter, sugar flour and cinnamon.
Work with fingers to make pea size lumps
Put in refrigerator until needed.
Cherry topping:
1 25 ounce (720g) jar of sour pitted cherries
2 (30ml) tablespoons cornstarch
Drain cherry liquid into saucepan.
Save 3 tablespoons of the liquid into small dish with cornstarch
Bring liquid in pan into a boil over medium high heat.
Once boiling add the cornstarch mixture and whisk
Remove from heat and continue to whisk until smooth.
