THE ARCHIPELAGO AND THE HISTORY OF THE PIRATE WORLD

The act of stealing goods or valuable assets from other ships is called piracy, and people who do it are called pirates. Piracy can also occur in coastal areas or against other ships. In the 14th century BC, a band of sea robbers known as the people of the sea attacked the ships of the Aegean and Mediterranean civilizations. This is the earliest known case of piracy.
