In 1996, the China Food Additives Standardization Technical Committee officially accepted Natamycin as an ingredient in food preservation. The Joint Expert Committee of FAO/WHO on Food Additives stipulated that human bodies could completely take Natamycin 0.3mg per kg of body weight daily. JECFA/EC also permits approval.
