Sudden Unexpected Death in Infancy or SUDI, is the term used when babies die without warning during sleep. Once categorized as SIDS or Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, SUDI most often occurs when infants are put down to sleep in an unsafe environment causing them to suffocate. The sad reality is that many of these deaths would have been preventable by following safe sleeping practices for infants.
