This weekend on “On the Barricades,” we are happy to have our repeat-guest, Youri Smouter of 1+1, to discuss the latest global news especially as it pertains to Eastern Europe.
In this first episode of three, we cover Romania-EU relations and the boycotts of Austrian gas companies and banks for the decision to not accept it into Schengen. Romania also intends to attack the decision at the European Justice court.
In the second part of the episode, we cover the so-called culture wars and protest at FIFA, a non-debate employed opportunistically by western imperialism– and dissect the capitalist model of funding football.
