The East Lancs Ripper

Episode 8. In this episode, I discuss the notorious unsolved case of the East Lancs Ripper with Chris Clark.
On October 18th in 1988 the naked body of Liverpool sex worker Linda Donaldson was found dumped in a farmers field on Winick Lane in Lowton just a few miles away from Leigh. She had been horribly mutilated. Just over two years later the dismembered body of Manchester prostitute Maria Christina Requena was found a few miles away at Pennington Flash. Her body had been put into five bin bags and stuffed inside a mattress cover, then dumped on the shore of Pennington Flash Lake a short walk from Slag Lane car Park in Leigh. We believe the same killer also murdered Julie Finley and potentially other women in the area too. The case remains unsolved more than 30 years ago after the first murder.
