On December 4 2013, 300 light years away from earth, an exoplanet named HD 106906 b was discovered. The planet is 60 billion miles away from its parent star. We are not sure how this planet is formed and why is it so far from its sun. Irrespective of its proximity to the sun, the planet is still scorching at 1500 degree celsius and it glows in the infrared.
