In this video, I discuss possible explanations for why prominent crypto entrepreneurs like Sam Bankman-Fried and Brian Armstrong are constantly bad-mouthing Bitcoin, its consensus mechanism of proof of work, and its energy usage.

There are two main reasons:

1) Both men run altcoin/shipcoin casinos and profit from retail traders bleeding themselves dry trading things like $LUNA.

2) Both men understand that proof of stake gives exchanges extraordinary power over the protocol.

Proof of work has no such properties-- it is highly competitive, the miner set is constantly changing, and having more coins does not give you additional power over the protocol.

Proof of stake coins give too much power to exchanges and ETFs, and thus create a large attack surface for politicians and regulators.

Only proof of work can guarantee decentralization and neutrality.

Shipcoins and proof of stake are two ways that our fiat overlords are trying to stop the Bitcoin revolution.
