King Warrior Magician Lover: Rediscovering the Archetypes of the Mature Masculine is a pretty good book that presents a useful framework for describing our thoughts and behaviours as men. The authors' descriptions of the shadow forms is helpful in identifying which areas of our lives may be lacking or needing careful attention.
