Number 10: AVE CLASS 103
This train is operated by a state-run railway company in Spain called RENFE for the AVE service and is also called ‘Renfe Class 103’.
Running at a speed of 195 mph, it is the 10th fastest train on our list.
Having distributed traction as well as two powered bogies distributed in 4 out of 8 cars, AVE Class 103 removes the necessity of having driving units at either end and provides better utilization of space and energy. A single train’s capacity is 404 passengers. Coupled 8-car trains allow 808 passengers to enjoy the ride.
These trains were built by Siemens Mobility and began operation on 22 June 2007 between Madrid and the temporary end of the line to Barcelona near Tarragona. The opening of the final section of the Madrid-Barcelona high-speed rail line on February 20 2008 finally allowed AVE Class 103 to provide its best, completing the journey in just 2 hours and 30 minutes on non-stop runs.

Number 9: TGV POS
This train runs at 200 mph and is operated by the French national railway company SNCF. "POS" stands for Paris-Ostfrankreich-Süddeutschland -German for "Paris, Eastern France, Southern Germany".
Eight single-deck TGV Réseau carriages paired with new power cars form the body of this train. A power output of 12,900 horsepower is provided which allows the train to reach its top speed under 25kV.
Linking France to Switzerland and Germany, this train made its first journey in 2007.
