Every culture has its own unique origin myth. People need a sense of identity – a sense of who they really are, and where they come from. The Irish and the Scottish are no different – but their origin myth is perhaps one of the most interesting.

And the thing is, this origin myth might be true. We’re talking, of course, about the story of Scotia:

The daughter of an Ancient Egyptian pharaoh who traveled to the British Isles and laid the foundations for a new Gaelic culture.
