A mum and her two freezing youngsters were left without gas or power for 11 days after an issue with Scottish Power.

Caitlin Minshull, from Prescot, was in her level with her two kids, matured five months and 19 months, when her power was cut off at 4pm on Tuesday, December 6, regardless of the meter being topped up. The 22-year-old's sister was in the shower when the blackout occurred, leaving the family befuddled.

Caitlin went straight onto the Scottish Power application to top up, which didn't work. She then, at that point, visited her corner shop to have a go at garnish up once more, and nothing changed once more.

The mum told The Reverberation: "It just cut off despite the fact that there was £10 still on the meter. I took a stab at fixing up on the application and at the shop, and when I got back it was 8pm in any case, so my neighbor let me stay over with the children.

"I reached out to my lodging choices group and they let me know it was down to the provider to check the meter out. They attempted to ring Scottish Power and were additionally waiting for something like three hours.
