[ Donetsk Front Analysis ] Fall of Opytne expose Avdiivka to potential encirclement; Lines MUST Hold

Update from the Donetsk Front: Russian Ministry of Defense announces the capture of Optyne, North of Donetsk City - corroborating reports of the capture by Pro-Russian sources as well as the concession by Pro-Ukrainian source DeepStateUA of the loss.

The loss of Optyne opens up the western flank of Avdiivka to potential Russian attacks or encirclement - and with actions in the north and northeast of Avdiivka - it appears to be part of a larger pincer movement by the Russian forces.

Russia continue to fight fiercely at Pervomaiske, Vodyane and towards Nevelske. The fall of these towns would force the Ukrainians to fall back to a new line of defense.
