Protests in Belgrade as tensions run high between Serbia and Kosovo

Live from Belgrade on Friday, December 16, where residents have gathered to protest amid heightened tensions between Pristina authorities and Kosovo Serbs.

On Saturday, ethnic Serbs in the north of Kosovo erected barricades, following the arrest of a former police officer. There were also reports of an exchange of gunfire with Kosovo’s police force.

Earlier this week, Pristina signed a formal application for EU candidate status, while Serbia immediately called on the bloc to cancel the process.
