Faust Checho dives into a study that proposes an alternative theory claiming DNA mutations are not random, but instead a pre-planned part of evolution that predict mutations and protect the most important genes as a species evolves.

The study coming out of joint research by UC Davis and the Max Planck Institute sequenced hundreds of different variations of a thale cress plant also known as arabidopsis thaliana.

The findings are opening doors into genetics we didn’t even know were possible.
