Barongan is a Jawa word for ꦧꦫꦺꦴꦔꦤ꧀; Bali: ) is one of the traditional khas masyarakat of Jawa and Bali that is found in the Wilayah of Jawa Tengah and Bali, but is owned by the Kabupaten Ponorogo in Jawa Timur. In addition, this kesenian tends to be incorporated with rancak-themed gamelan instruments (seperangkat alat musik). In 2011, the current king of Barongan was formally recognized by the people of the Republic of Indonesia as one of the Warisan Budaya Takbenda of Indonesia, including Barongan khas Kabupaten Kudus and Mlangsen in Jawa Tengah.
