The case of the Black Dahlia.

On January 15, 1947, Elizabeth Short was found murdered in the Leimert Park neighborhood. She became known as the Black Dahlia, her case became highly publicized due to its gruesome nature. The mutilation of her body which had been bisected at the midsection was what made it known as one of the most gruesome cases in LA history.
