How much money can you make with walking dogs? Today we find out with testing side hustles part 1, walking dogs.

This video shows we walk a dog for 60 minutes to see how much money we can make and to show you if this side hustle is worth doing. For this sidehustle review we are using the dog walking app, Wag. There are plenty of other dog walking apps or websites out there to earn money, such as Rover, PetBacker, Care, Dogwalker, Petsitter, Swifto, Barkly Pets, and much money. I have been using Wag for over two years and found it to be pretty easy to request to walk a pup and the app interface is very easy to navigate (and no this video is not sponsored by Wag).

For this side hustle review it gives you an honest overview what to expect while walking dogs. When I talk to other friends and family, they assume that this would be a very simple side hustle and great to play with the dogs, but only half of that is true. Yes, it's great getting paid to hang with dogs and walk them around the block, but I usually come across a couple main issues. First, about half of the dogs I seem to walk are extremely scared and aggressive once you try and get them ready for a walk. I don't blame the pups, since I would be aggressive too, if a stranger came into my house without me knowing and was trying to put a leash on me. Second, a fraction of the dogs aren't leash trained or having some other tendency that makes the walk a lot more complicated. In this video the dog, Rex, didn't want to go home. He would become very stubborn and sit there. Which made an hour walk, actually take an hour and 40 minutes. I have other dogs in the past, take 20-30 minutes to put leashes on and chasing them around a stranger's house, bark and charge uncontrollably towards any dogs they saw on the walk, or refuse to go on the walk if it was raining.

Overall, I really enjoy walking dogs and this can be a great side hustle to get paid to be outside and walk around, get to know what kind of dog breeds you would like to own one day, and/or checking out available real estate in your market. If you're solely viewing this is a way to make great extra money, then I would suggest looking into other side hustles that have a better payout on your time and can be scaled.
