University of Tennessee basketball player Tamari Key out for season with blood clots in lungs

Tennessee women's basketball senior center Tamari Key will miss the remainder of the 2022-23 season after blood clots were discovered in her lungs, the program announced Thursday 8 December 2022.

The University of Tennessee Health Science Center writes the following on their website:

"COVID-19 vaccination is not required, but vaccination is strongly recommended. All students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to get vaccinated, which has been proven to be safe and effective."

For students, it mandates certain vaccines, but not the COVID jab:

"The newly adopted immunization rule requires vaccinations for measles, mumps and rubella (MMR), varicella (chicken pox), meningococcal disease, hepatitis B and certain other requirements pertaining primarily to academic programs in the health sciences, but does not mandate vaccinations for influenza or COVID-19."
