This adventure brought us to a unique and strange southern New Mexico area that used to have three thousand people in a town that is no longer here. A gold nugget the size of a man's finger was discovered and the lies surfaced from there. Planting gold so outsiders could find it and invest money into mining operations. Their hard work paid off in the form of iron, turquoise and very little silver. This area had a strange vibe to it with the history and another sad story about a kid falling into a shaft. Maybe this place was just cursed from the get go? We explored what we could and documented everything. The New Mexico wild life was present, a fox and a huge beehive prevented us from roping down a shaft. We also encountered some loud booms off in the distance that I caught on cam! This has to be one of the most unusual adventures we have ever had which made it worth it. The calm silence from the desert seemed to speak of strange times. From small underground prospects to huge surface mines, you could tell these miners tried to hit that "BIG GOLD" in any outcropping they could find. Come with us and see what's left of old Big Gold.

WARNING: All individuals in this video advise against entering abandoned mines or ruined structures without the proper knowledge, experience, training or equipment. Abandoned mines can severely injure or even kill you.
