Parents who charge their teenagers rent should be charged rent when their older and live with them

I will never understand the reasoning to which parents charge their teenagers rent. I am also using the term teenagers to cover the ages 13-19. I do not care that being a 18 makes one an “adult”. Having a child is a lifelong commitment. Many people have kids for all the wrong and vain reasons. They have kids they know they can’t afford and keep having more. Being a teenager is such a vulnerable point in one’s life, you didn’t ask to be here and you’re making the most of it. I know no teenager who is making that much money monthly that they can pay all their bills, save up to move while paying their parents $400 -$1000 in rent. If you’re a parent that’s poor, it’s time to get another job then or a better job. Your kids shouldn’t provide for you unless they want to help.
Parents who charge their kids rent should be fine with getting charged rent when they’re older if the live with their children. I don’t see why not. If they can do that to their kids in a vulnerable state, the same should be allowed to happen to them.

Edit: I feel like some people are choosing to ignore the fact I said 13-19 years old. I put those ages in there for a reason.
