Meditating daily can be difficult. It will take commitment, practice and a willingness to let go of the thoughts that creep into your mind.

First of all, it is important to understand that meditation is not a single activity. Rather it is a series of steps that can be taken to open the brain’s attentional network and improve your focus and concentration.

The first step is to acknowledge that you are meditating. Just like any other activity, you should start by sitting down and turning your attention fully towards your feet. It may take some time before you find the right position that works for you.

After a few minutes of meditating, try different positions and see if you can adjust them until you find one that is most comfortable for you. Once you have found a good position, close your eyes and relax completely.

The second step is to focus on one object or thought in the mind without any effort or resistance. This requires a serious effort from your part so it is important to start with something very challenging like counting to ten in your head or counting backwards from 1,000 times. Once you have done this for a few minutes, experiment with different objects and thoughts until you find what works best for you.

Next, take some time every day to sit quietly and still for at least 15 minutes. This can be in your home or in an environment that allows more room such as a park or garden. If possible, try to sit on an uncomfortable chair or on a soft couch that allows you to fully relax without shifting orCounting noises around the house will help prevent distractions so try not to listen to music while meditating if possible.

Finally, try making small changes in your life each day such as changing some of the lights in your room or wearing new clothes each day so that they trigger new associations in your brain and help improve focus and concentration over time.
